Jay Wikid – Bwamp/Robot Rock

Awesome new beats from Vancouver-based producer, Jay Wikid

Quietly stirring the future-hop scene for over 5 years, Canadian-based Jay Wikid finally steps into the spotlight with a searing single to make even the most cynical heads bob. Recognized early on as an up-and-coming talent by Bassnectar, their collaborative single “Select Frequency” charted #1 in Hip Hop on Beatport for three weeks and was subsequently licensed to MTV. Alongside Colorado’s Jantsen, the two produced many heaters under “Ghetto Blastaz”, and Jay has performed alongside artists like the Glitch Mob, Bassnectar, Breakbeat Buddha, Tipper and Vibesquad. His most recent collaboration with Opiuo, “Panty Slingshot”, was picked by An-ten-nae for his most recent Acid Crunk compilation, and proceeded  to take the Beatport charts by storm. Jay’s musical recipes blend infectious hip-hop rhythms with tweaky, glitchy sprinkles – topped off with heavy bassline icing. “Bwamp” never stops grinding with high-pitched blips, heavy womps and zesty zipper sounds, while “Robot Rock” showcases Jay’s deeper, funkier side with splashy purple elements, glitched-out vocal samples and slapping beats.

The secret’s out!
